China Post scheduled the issuance of one souvenir sheet of special stamps themed How Splendid the Rivers and Mountains Are on September 25, 2021. The souvenir sheet has a face value of 6 yuan, with a planned circulation of 6 million copies.

How Splendid the Rivers and Mountains Are is a huge colored landscape painting jointly created by contemporary Chinese painters Fu Baoshi and Guan Shanyue in 1959. Measuring 6.5 meters in height and 9 meters in width, the poetic painting bears the six-character inscription by Mao Zedong, which is exactly the painting's title. This magnificent landscape masterpiece artistically integrates almost all the scenes on the Chinese land that can best show the grandeur of the motherland's rivers and mountains and represent the spirit of the Chinese nation. It incorporates the scenery of the four seasons both inside and outside the Great Wall as well as along the entire stretch of the Yellow River in a single painting, perfectly embodying the majestic and stunning momentum conveyed in Mao Zedong's well - known poem Snow to the Tune of "Spring in a Pleasure Garden". This great work has become a classic in the history of Chinese art.
