China Post scheduled the issuance of a set of commemorative stamps titled "50th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China Restoring Its Lawful Seat in the United Nations" on October 25, 2021. The set contains 1 stamp with a face value of 1.20 yuan, and the planned circulation is 7 million sets.

In 1971, the 26th Session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 2758 by an overwhelming majority, deciding to restore all lawful rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations. This is an event of great historical significance. It marks that the United Nations has truly become the most universal, representative, and authoritative intergovernmental international organization, and also opens a new chapter in cooperation between China and the United Nations. Over the past 50 years, China has acted on the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations with concrete actions, becoming an important builder of world peace, the largest contributor to global development, and a firm defender of the international order.

The stamp design adopts a concise and modern illustration style, depicting the scene of the national flag of the People's Republic of China flying in front of the UN Headquarters building complex. It has both a sense of the times and a solemn atmosphere. The white doves dotted in the picture symbolize peace, friendship, and unity, while also enlivening the overall composition.

This stamp set was designed by Guo Zhiyi and printed by Beijing Stamp Factory Co., Ltd. using the photogravure process.
