China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 1 commemorative stamp titled The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of Xiamen University on April 6, 2021. The face value of the stamp is 1.20 yuan, with a planned circulation of 8.2 million sets.

Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, a renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern Chinese education, and also a high-level university under key construction in China's "Project 211" and "Project 985" (two national initiatives to enhance the quality of higher education). Over the past century, Xiamen University has adhered to its school motto "Pursue Excellence, Strive for Perfection", accumulated rich experience in running the university, and formed distinct characteristics in education. It has developed into a comprehensive university with a complete range of disciplines, a strong faculty, a top-tier reputation in China, and extensive international influence.

This set of stamps adopts a computer-based hand-painted style, with the Qunxian Building Complex—one of Xiamen University's landmark buildings—as the main subject. It also incorporates elements such as the university emblem, the Jiannan Auditorium, and ocean waves. The stamp features a rhomboidal design, with a rigorous composition, clear layers, and a fresh and elegant color palette, fully demonstrating Xiamen University's profound historical heritage, vibrant contemporary atmosphere, and strong regional characteristics. For Sheet Type 1 (the standard stamp sheet), the design draws on the symbolic pattern of traditional Chinese knots and adopts a central axis symmetry layout. Meanwhile, it presents the silhouette of the Qunxian Building Complex, the school motto, and the 100th anniversary logo, making the overall image full of a sense of order and rhythm.

This set of stamps was designed by Shi Yuan and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using a two-color engraving technique. Under ultraviolet light, the century-old school motto, surrounded by clusters of phoenix flowers, vividly stands out on the small stamp surface.
