Background

The People's Police of China as an important force in the law enforcement of the country, undertakes the tasks to maintain public security and order, to protect the safety and freedom of the people as well as the legitimate personal and public properties, to prevent, suppress and punish criminal activities. The People's Police is loyally implementing the holy responsibilities endowed by Constitution and laws in the stern suppression of heinous criminal offenses, in the administration over social order, in the control of traffic and fire and as guardian of national borders. They are making important contributions by their consistent endeavors in defense of the smooth implementation of the reform & open policy as well as the socialist modernization construction.
