Background
China Post plans to issue a set of four special stamps titled Artificial Intelligence on June 18, 2026. The stamp designs are named: The Dawn of Intelligence, Digital and Data Fusion, Embodied Intelligence, and Harmonious Coexistence.Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a cutting-edge scientific field that studies and develops theories, methods, technologies, and application systems for simulating, extending, and expanding human intelligence. The advancement of AI is not merely a technological breakthrough but also a leap forward in humanity's ability to understand and transform the world. As a core driving force of the new technological revolution, AI has been deeply integrated into all aspects of production and daily life.
This stamp set presents a narrative arc of AI’s evolution from its origins to its future possibilities. It combines a technological aesthetic with humanistic depth to construct a visual narrative that is both contemporary and thought-provoking, comprehensively reflecting the development trajectory, diverse applications, and social value of AI. The design incorporates motifs such as ECG lines, binary code, and circuit board patterns to create a cohesive technological visual texture. Distinctive imagery and color palettes are used to differentiate individual themes, while maintaining an overall consistent and layered style that is both artistic and educational.
The first stamp, The Dawn of Intelligence, centers on the origins of AI, blending three visual elements—historical landmarks, technological symbols, and life rhythms—to vividly interpret the theme. The main visual consists of three-dimensional "AI" letters, with the backdrop featuring the building where the Dartmouth Conference took place, marking the conference in 1956 as the formal birth of artificial intelligence. The multicolored ECG lines running through the scene symbolize the grand and energetic commencement of the intelligent era. This stamp is the first to incorporate a color-shifting iridescent process, creating a dynamic play of light on the central "AI" design when the stamp is tilted. Combined with cold foil and full-color printing technology, it achieves a unique "two scenes in one stamp" visual effect. Under ultraviolet light, the design reveals a misty, interwoven interplay of virtual and real forms—blending historical heritage with futuristic technology in a harmonious synthesis.
The second stamp, Digital and Data Fusion, takes the large language model (LLM) ecosystem as its theme, conveying the concept of boundless integration and multidimensional intelligent symbiosis. The main visual employs a radiating network structure with a laser-like iridescent effect, vividly representing the logic of "data flowing outward from the center across all domains for multidimensional integration." At the core of the network is the label "LLM," encircled by icons representing diverse application scenarios such as people, imagery, data, voice, and documents. This composition illustrates the large language model as the central hub of the digital-intelligent ecosystem, enabling the interconnection of all things and intelligent symbiosis through a ubiquitous intelligent network. This stamp uses cold foil and full-color techniques to create a deep, three-dimensional technological space, with luminous, layered topological network lines.
The third stamp, Embodied Intelligence, integrates humanoid robots with digital interaction and deep symbiosis, conveying the core message that AI is not confined to virtual screens but is deeply rooted in the physical world. It highlights that embodied intelligence is the key vehicle and primary form of AI implementation in real-world scenarios. The central visual depicts a robot's fingertip gently touching a holographic screen. Drones symbolize intelligent operations in the air domain, autonomous vehicles represent the evolution of intelligent transportation, and background wireless signal elements illustrate a connected digital ecosystem. Cold foil technology is employed to precisely render intricate mechanical structures, delivering a realistic metallic sheen. Under UV light, the full-color printing enriches the image with natural, vibrant details—transforming abstract intelligent concepts into tangible, touchable achievements on the stamp surface.
The fourth stamp, Harmonious Coexistence, focuses on the symbiosis of carbon-based life and silicon-based intelligence, featuring a symmetrical composition of a human brain and a mechanical head. The design symbolizes the coexistence of AI and human civilization, with neural pathways and circuit patterns interpenetrating each other. The human brain represents wisdom, creativity, and emotion, while the mechanical head represents computing power, algorithms, and logic—the digital extension of human intellect. Surrounding binary code suggests data as the connector between human and machine; the integrated circuit at the base and the circuitry running through both heads imply brain-machine interconnectivity and shared consciousness. This stamp integrates three techniques: embossing, cold foil, and full-color printing, achieving a dual breakthrough in visual and tactile experience. The robot's face features three-dimensional embossing with pronounced contours for an authentic tactile sensation. Cold foil enhances the circuitry with refined brilliance, symbolizing the deep integration and collaborative symbiosis of human wisdom and AI. Under UV light, the full-color effect fully unveils a magnificent vision of human-machine harmony and a future illuminated by technology.
For the first time, this stamp set incorporates silicon-based materials into the specialty printing ink, enhancing the ink's texture and aligning with the thematic core of AI. The compositions employ a balance of virtual and real forms, layered light and shadow, and rich texture—demonstrating innovation in contemporary high-end printing technology and presenting a refined, miniature representation of China's flourishing AI development in the new era.
This stamp set is designed by Wang Huming and edited by Liu Jian.
