On October 25, 1945, Taiwan was formally restored, ending Japanese colonial rule and returning to the embrace of the motherland. This historical event is an important achievement of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and, through historical and juridical facts, once again proves that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. The stamp takes "10·25" as its core commemorative marker, linking the historical memory of Taiwan's restoration with the national sentiments of compatriots on both sides of the strait, emphasizing national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national rejuvenation, and implying that the two sides of the strait share the same roots and are linked by blood, with the hope for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the realization of national reunification.

Stamp Design and Historical Background

Taiwan Restoration Day

The design is composed as a commemorative main visual, with "10·25" and "Taiwan Restoration Day" highlighted at the top, solemn and striking. The main body integrates imagery with national symbolism and representative Taiwanese regional features, such as the Great Wall, Alishan, and Sun Moon Lake, linking the mountains and rivers of the mainland with those of Taiwan; the overall design uses warm red and gold as its main tones, creating a solemn, passionate, and united commemorative atmosphere. The picture emphasizes the historical moment and national sentiment, highlighting the major historical event of Taiwan's restoration and the historical fact that both sides of the strait belong to one China.

Artistic Design Features

The stamp adopts the solemn design language of commemorative stamps, with red and gold as the main colors and steady layered contrasts, both embodying the commemorative atmosphere and highlighting national sovereignty and national sentiment. The composition is concise and powerful, with the text "10·25" as the primary visual, and the Great Wall, Alishan, and Sun Moon Lake together forming a unified imagery of nation and region. The photogravure printing has delicate lines and full colors, and multiple anti-counterfeiting processes enhance the stamp's collectible and commemorative value. The overall design integrates historical commemoration, national sovereignty, cross-strait common origin, and national rejuvenation, making it a commemorative stamp with distinct contemporary significance and a profound sense of history.
