2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Over the past 100 years, the CPC has united and led the Chinese people in arduous struggles, enabling the Chinese nation to achieve a great leap from standing up, growing prosperous to becoming strong. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. The CPC remains true to its original aspiration, keeps its mission firmly in mind, and is leading the people in writing a new chapter in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

In accordance with the arrangements for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and upon approval by the relevant central authorities, China Post issued a set of 20 commemorative stamps and a set of 1 commemorative envelope themed "The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" on July 1, 2021.

Content of the Commemorative Stamps

The total face value of the commemorative stamps is 24 yuan. The stamps adopt a joint-stamp design, with red and gold as the main tones of the images. They are created using oil painting realistic techniques, and a continuous streamer runs through the entire set, symbolizing the glorious 100-year struggle journey of the CPC. The specific content of each stamp is as follows:

Breaking New Ground: Featuring elements including the site of the First National Congress of the CPC in Shanghai, the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, the May 4th Movement (relief on the Monument to the People's Heroes), and the rising sun.

Glorious Years: Featuring elements including the Nanchang Uprising (relief on the Monument to the People's Heroes), the revolutionary site in Jinggangshan, the site of the Zunyi Conference, and the Battle of Luding Bridge.

Mainstay of the Nation: Featuring elements including the Pagoda Mountain in Yan'an, On Protracted War, and the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (relief on the Monument to the People's Heroes).

Great Victory: Featuring elements including Xibaipo, Shuangqing Villa in Xiangshan, and the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign (relief on the Monument to the People's Heroes).

Founding Ceremony: Featuring elements including Tiananmen Square during the Founding Ceremony, Huabiao (ornamental columns), and fireworks.

Resisting U.S. Aggression and Aiding Korea: Featuring elements including crossing the Yalu River, the Arc de Triomphe, peace doves, and olive branches.

Laying the Foundation for the System: Featuring elements including the 1954 Constitution, the Great Hall of the People, and socialist transformation.

Self-Reliance: Featuring elements including the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" achievement, Daqing Oilfield, Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, and Shisanling Reservoir.

Spring Tide of Reform: Featuring elements including the communiqué of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the commemorative sculpture for the household contract responsibility system in Xiaogang Village, and the resumption of the college entrance examination.

Opening Up: Featuring elements including the Pioneer Ox Sculpture in Shenzhen, Shanghai Nanpu Bridge, and the special economic zones in Xiamen, Zhuhai, and Shantou.

Takeoff in the New Century: Featuring elements including the Three Gorges Dam, the Golden Bauhinia Sculpture in Hong Kong, the Golden Lotus Sculpture in Macao, China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the APEC Meeting in Shanghai.

Scientific Development: Featuring elements including the Shenzhou-5 spacecraft, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the Jiaolong manned submersible, and the National Stadium (Bird's Nest).

Eradicating Poverty: Featuring elements including Shibadong Village, Minning Town, Xuanya Village, scenes of bumper harvests in rural areas, drone seeding, and photovoltaic power generation.

Moderate Prosperity in All Respects: Featuring elements including the GDP exceeding 100 trillion yuan, ecological civilization (the "Two Mountains" Theory), and achievements in education, medical care, and the fight against the epidemic.

Strengthening and Revitalizing the Military: Featuring elements including the Gutian Military and Political Work Conference of the entire army, parade formations, the domestic aircraft carrier Shandong, the J-20 fighter jet, the Dongfeng-41 missile, and information-based combat equipment.

Sailing Forward: Featuring elements including modern large ships, the Chinese Dream, 56 ethnic groups, the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the Fuxing high-speed train, Daxing Airport, and the Beidou satellites.

Faith: Featuring the "Faith" sculpture, with the image of Mount Tai as the background.

Great Cause: Featuring the "Great Cause" sculpture, with the image of the Hukou Waterfall as the background.

Overcoming Challenges: Featuring the "Overcoming Challenges" sculpture, with the image of the Yangtze River as the background.

Pursuing Dreams: Featuring the "Pursuing Dreams" sculpture, with the image of the Great Wall as the background.

Content of the Commemorative Envelope

The commemorative envelope features elements such as the Party emblem, the golden characters "Remain True to the Original Aspiration and Keep the Mission in Mind", the logo for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and the large-scale lacquer mural Ode to the Great Wall in the CPC History Exhibition Hall.
