The International Stamps and Coins Exposition Beijing 1995 will be held between September 14 and 18,1995, in the China World Trade Center in Beijing This is first large exposition for the exhibition and sale of stamps and coins even held since the People's Republic of China was founded.
The exposition, jointly sponsored by the China National Philatelic Corporation and China National Gold Coin Corporation, is aimed at expanding the influence of the Chinese culture in the world, making friends with stamp and coin traders both at home and abroad, extending exchange channels and the contingent of domestic and overseas stamp and coin collectors, expanding the home stamp and coin market through sales promotion activities of domestic and overseas traders, popularizing knowledge on stamp and coin collection, and promoting the exchange of stamps and coins between Chinese and overseas collectors.
The exposition will cover an area of 2,200 square meters, and 120 booths and temporary post office and bank will be set up. Some stamp designers will be present for signing the goods on sale. Large stamp and coin auctions, as well as teenager's days on stamp and coin collection, will be organized during the event, while philatelic passports will be issued, Some countries such as Australia, Hungary, Vietnam, San Marino, the Republic of Marshall and the Republic of Micronesia have issued stamps in commemoration of the exposition .
With the continuous socioeconomic advancement and cultural prosperity and in China, the increase of its comprehensive strength and the increasingly improvement in the people's daily life, there has come an unprecedented, strong upsurge of collection in the country. At present, China has 15 million stamp collectors, and coin collection has become the second intense popular interest of the Chinese people after stamp collection.
