China Post issued a set of four special stamps titled "Filial Piety (II)" on October 7, 2016.

Filial piety is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. Many stories of filial piety have been passed down through the ages, continuing to inspire future generations.

"Carrying Rice for a Hundred Li" tells of Zi Lu, a disciple of Confucius, who came from a poor family and often ate wild vegetables to survive. However, he could not bear to see his parents suffer, so he traveled over a hundred li every day to buy rice and support them.

"Personally Tasting Herbal Soup" recounts how Emperor Wen of Han dutifully cared for his ailing mother, Empress Dowager Bo. He personally tasted every bowl of medicinal soup before allowing her to drink it.

"Wen Ji Continues Her Father's Work" tells of Cai Wenji, who, at her father Cai Yong's request, set out to organize his writings. Even after being captured and held in captivity among the Xiongnu for twelve years, she never forgot her father's request. After returning to the Han court, she managed to reconstruct four hundred volumes of her father's works from memory.

"Kai Zhi Paints His Mother" is the story of Gu Kaizhi, who, as a child, deeply missed his deceased mother and resolved to paint her portrait. He not only rendered it with remarkable realism but later became a celebrated master of Chinese painting.
