China Post will issue a set of 10 commemorative stamps titled "Role Models of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Honored with Portraits" on August 1, 2025. The stamps feature the following figures: Zhang Side, Dong Cunrui, Huang Jiguang, Qiu Shaoyun, Lei Feng, Su Ning, Li Xiangqun, Yang Yegong, Lin Junde, and Zhang Chao. The total face value of the set is 12 yuan, with a planned issuance quantity of 4.5 million sets.

Greatness is forged in the ordinary, and heroes emerge from the people. A nation with hope cannot be without heroes, and a country with a future cannot be without pioneers. The ten role models honored with portraits in the Chinese People's Liberation Army across different periods are:

Zhang Side – "His death for the people's interests is weightier than Mount Tai."

Dong Cunrui – "Most glorious is fulfilling the arduous tasks assigned by the Party."

Huang Jiguang – "He fought bravely, disregarding his own safety."

Qiu Shaoyun – "Discipline is more important than life."

Lei Feng – "Dedicate one's limited life to the limitless service of the people."

Su Ning – "Dedicated to the modernization of national defense."

These ten portrait role models are outstanding representatives among the many heroes and models of the People's Army, serving as the most distinct spiritual markers of their era. Standing like monuments, they embody the noble spirit of Communists and revolutionary soldiers. Their deeds and spirit are a powerful force inspiring us to move forward, and they serve as vivid examples for passing on the red gene and cultivating core socialist values.

The stamp set is produced using high-resolution photogravure printing, resulting in saturated colors and rich layers. The stamp designs focus on the portraits of the PLA role models. The high saturation and vibrant colors of the photogravure process accurately restore the profound hues of the original artwork. The stamp titles and decorative frames use metallic ink, with the dignified gold and red color scheme highlighting the stamps' simplicity, solemnity, and grandeur. The star-shaped irregular perforations echo the theme of the stamps, enhancing overall harmony and unity.

The stamp set was designed by Yin Xiaofei, edited by Li Jinwei, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using the photogravure process.
