Background
China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 2 commemorative stamps themed "The 33rd Olympic Games" on July 26, 2024. The stamps feature designs entitled Swimming and Sport Climbing, with a total face value of 2.40 yuan for the set. The planned circulation is 6.269 million sets.

The 33rd Olympic Games will open on July 26, 2024, and close on August 11, 2024 (local time) in Paris, France. A full century after the last Olympic Games held in the city, the French capital will become the second city (after London) to host the Summer Olympic Games three times. Adopting a minimalist and generalized graphic design style, the set captures the exciting moments of the two sports. The first stamp depicts a male freestyle swimmer, viewed from an upward angle underwater, showcasing his dynamic posture as he cuts through the waves and surges forward. The second stamp portrays a female speed climber, captured from an oblique side perspective, highlighting her movements of lifting legs to step on holds and pulling upward. The backgrounds of both stamps feature Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, reflecting the geographical characteristics of this Olympic Games. Printed using high-precision offset lithography, the stamps boast bright and vibrant overall colors with natural gradient borders. Local hot stamping technology is also applied to accentuate the thematic backgrounds and enhance the sense of motion in the images.

This set of stamps was designed by Shen Jiahong and Shang Ying, edited by Liu Jian, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using offset lithography with partial hot stamping.
