China Post scheduled the issuance of a set of commemorative stamps themed "The 100th Anniversary of Yunnan University's Founding" on April 20, 2023. The set contains one single stamp, with the design titled "The 100th Anniversary of Yunnan University's Founding". The total face value of the whole set is 1.20 yuan, and the planned circulation of the stamp set is 7.85 million sets.

Yunnan University was founded in 1922 and officially opened on April 20, 1923. As one of the earliest comprehensive universities established in the southwest border area of China, it has successively become a key university under China's "211 Project", an institution included in the implementation of the "Project for Enhancing Basic Capabilities of Universities in Central and Western China" and the "Project for Improving Comprehensive Strength of Universities in Central and Western China", as well as a university under the "Double First-Class" Initiative. In the new historical period, adhering to the Yunnan University spirit of "Embracing All Schools of Thought, Serving the World with Justice", the university takes first-class Party building as the guide, first-class university construction as the core, and moral education and talent cultivation as its fundamental task. It is accelerating the development into a comprehensive, international, and research-oriented world-class university rooted in the southwest border area of the motherland and facing South and Southeast Asia, blazing a distinctive path for building a world-class university in border ethnic areas.

The stamp design presents the profound historical heritage of "Huize Building" – a landmark structure of Yunnan University – through engraved lines. Meanwhile, it features the school emblem of Yunnan University and the logo of the 100th anniversary celebration, with an ancient and simple color tone and rich layers. This set of stamps was designed by Zhang Dongdong, engraved by Li Hao, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using the combined offset and intaglio printing technique.
