China Post scheduled the issuance of a set of commemorative stamps themed "The 100th Anniversary of Northeastern University's Founding" on April 26, 2023. The set contains one single stamp, with the design titled "The 100th Anniversary of Northeastern University's Founding". The total face value of the whole set is 1.20 yuan, and the planned circulation of the stamp set is 7.85 million sets.

Northeastern University, founded in 1923, is a university with a glorious tradition of patriotism. It is among the first batch of key universities under China's "211 Project" and "985 Project". In 2017, it was included in the first round of universities under the "Double First-Class" Initiative, and in 2022, it entered the new round of universities under the "Double First-Class" Initiative. During its nearly 100-year history of running the university, Northeastern University has always been committed to advancing in tandem with the country's development and the nation's rejuvenation. It has fostered the school motto spirit of "Self-Improvement, Unity of Knowledge and Action" and the Northeastern University culture of "Diligence, Devotion to the Motherland, Innovation, and Excellence".

The stamp design adopts engraved lines combined with light colors to present the Information Science Building of the Nanhu Campus – a landmark structure of Northeastern University. The background features elements such as the school emblem, school motto, and the logo of the 100th anniversary celebration, resulting in a design with rich layers and a prominent theme. This set of stamps was designed and engraved by Xu Zhe, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using the combined offset and intaglio printing technique.
