China Post scheduled the issuance of a set of 4 commemorative stamps themed "China Space Station" on December 25, 2022. The themes of the stamps are as follows: (1) Earth-Space Round-Trip; (2) Space Science; (3) Extravehicular Activity; (4) Space Home. The total face value of the whole set of stamps is 5.40 yuan. The planned circulation is 8 million sets of the full stamp set and 1.1 million sheets of Format II.

This set of stamps adopts a se-tenant design (connected stamp layout) and uses dark blue as the main color tone to reflect the mystery and vastness of outer space. Through the four themes of "Earth-Space Round-Trip, Space Science, Extravehicular Activity, and Space Home", it showcases the glorious journey of China's manned space program over the past 30 years – from the home planet Earth to the vast universe, and the continuous realization of its space dreams.

Stamp 1: Earth-Space Round-Trip

The foreground of the stamp features the soaring Long March 5B carrier rocket. The background presents a wealth of elements related to the construction of China Space Station, including three types of rockets used for launching manned spacecraft, cargo spacecraft, and core modules (and other cabin sections), as well as tracking and control ships, tracking and control radars, and the return capsule of tracking and control satellites.

Stamp 2: Space Science

The stamp displays different types of space science experiments in the form of icons, covering space life science, microgravity combustion science, microgravity fluid science, space astronomy and astrophysics, microgravity basic physics, space materials science, new space technologies, and space Earth science.

Stamp 3: Extravehicular Activity

The stamp depicts a scene where two Chinese astronauts conduct extravehicular activities in space, performing tasks outside the space station – one on the robotic arm and the other on the cabin wall.

Stamp 4: Space Home

With China Space Station orbiting the Earth as the main subject, this stamp presents the boundless cosmic space with a strong visual impact. It embodies the implications of building a powerful spacefaring nation, creating a "space home", and exploring the unknown universe, while entrusting the beautiful aspiration of peacefully utilizing cosmic space, promoting open sharing, and benefiting humanity.

This set of stamps was designed by Wang Huming, Dong Qi, and Xia Jingqiu, and printed by Henan Post and Telecommunications Technology Co., Ltd. using the offset printing process. A combination of multiple printing technologies – including multi-color offset printing, spot-color ink, cold stamping, and full true-color printing – subtly presents the artistic beauty, sense of technology, atmosphere, and interest of the stamps in the delicate details within the small space of the stamps.
