Background
China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 1 commemorative stamp themed "Entry into Force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP)" on January 1, 2022. The total face value of the full set of stamps is 1.20 yuan, with a planned circulation of 6.8 million sets.

The ASEAN Secretariat, the depositary of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), issued a notice on November 2, 2021, announcing that 6 ASEAN member states (including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and 4 non-ASEAN member states (including China, Japan, New Zealand and Australia) had officially submitted their instruments of ratification to the ASEAN Secretary-General, meeting the threshold for the agreement to enter into force. In accordance with the provisions of the agreement, RCEP entered into force for the above-mentioned 10 countries on January 1, 2022.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) is a modern, comprehensive, high-quality and mutually beneficial large-scale regional free trade agreement, and also the most important achievement in the construction of East Asian economic integration in the past 20 years. Officially signed on November 15, 2020, RCEP currently has 15 member states. Its total population, economic aggregate and total trade volume account for about 30% of the global total, making it the world's largest free trade area. The entry into force of the agreement is of great significance for further promoting intra-regional free trade, stabilizing industrial and supply chains, and advancing China's high-level opening-up.

The design of this set of stamps takes the English abbreviation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement - "RCEP" - as the core element. The letters are composed of colorful blocks, and the background uses simple and upward dynamic lines, supplemented by elements such as urban buildings and the Earth. These elements represent economic growth and urban prosperity, implying that the entry into force of the agreement will have a positive impact on member states. The overall design of the stamp is concise and the theme is prominently expressed.

This set of stamps was designed by Yu Qiuyan and printed by Beijing Stamp Factory Co., Ltd. using gravure printing technology.
