China Post scheduled the issuance of a set of 2 commemorative stamps and 1 souvenir sheet themed “The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China” on October 16, 2022. The first stamp is entitled “Striding Forward on the New Journey” and the second “Achieving Great Feats in the New Era”, while the souvenir sheet bears the theme “Celebrating the Grand Success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China”. The total face value of the complete set is 8.40 yuan. The planned circulation is 13.9 million sets of the stamps and 7.9 million copies of the souvenir sheet.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was an extremely important congress convened at a crucial juncture when the whole Party, the entire nation of all ethnic groups embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects and marched toward the Second Centenary Goal. The congress opened in Beijing on October 16, 2022.

The first stamp depicts farmers, medical workers, engineers, senior professors, and couples holding young children. Meanwhile, it presents the Tian'anmen Rostrum, the outlook of modern urban and rural areas, the ecological beauty of green mountains and clear waters, as well as graphic elements representing electronic chips and big data. These elements together form a vivid picture of a thriving new era featuring people living and working in peace and contentment and striving diligently. It reflects the high-spirited demeanor of the whole nation, who, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, work hard with full enthusiasm to stride forward on the new journey and create a better life.

The second stamp portrays groups from all walks of life, including young students, farmers, people's police officers, workers, medical staff, public servants, athletes, astronauts, and the People's Liberation Army, taking a solemn oath under the majestic Party flag. It also incorporates elements such as the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Museum of the Communist Party of China. This stamp conveys that the whole nation, holding high the great banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, moves forward with determination, achieves great feats in the new era, and makes unremitting efforts to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

The main visuals of the souvenir sheet include the Party Emblem, red flags, the Great Hall of the People, and joyous people of all ethnic groups. It is complemented by the scores of three songs that eulogize the new era and the magnificent achievements made by the Party in uniting and leading the people, namely Long Live the Great Communist Party of China, Put People First and Charting the Course. Decorated with elements like peonies and doves of peace, the souvenir sheet creates a grand and joyous atmosphere, expressing the joy of people of all ethnic groups across the country who work together in unity to celebrate the grand success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

This set of stamps was collectively designed by the Central Academy of Fine Arts (principal designers: Gao Hong, Fan Dian, Lü Pinjing, Qiang Yong, Hao Ninghui, Liu Qing, Jia Luyao, Luo Yunze, Lü You) and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using the photogravure printing process.
