China Post plans to issue a set of 4 special stamps themed "Roses" on May 20, 2020. The designs of the stamps are titled respectively: Rose, Single-Petaled Pink Rose, Double-Petaled White Rose, and Double-Petaled Purple Rose. The total face value of the set is 5.40 yuan.

Rosa rugosa, a plant of the genus Rosa in the Rosaceae family, is an erect shrub that can grow up to 2 meters tall. Its flowers have a diameter of 4 to 5.5 centimeters, ranging from single-petaled, semi-double-petaled to double-petaled. With an enchanting fragrance and rich colors, they come in deep fuchsia as well as elegant pink and white. Wild roses are single-petaled, while cultivated varieties include single-petaled, semi-double-petaled and double-petaled types. As an excellent ornamental plant, the rose's flowers are edible, medicinal, and can also be used as raw material for extracting essential oils.

Like other plants of the genus Rosa, roses symbolize love in the language of flowers.

The stamps are designed in a decorative style, showcasing the four types of roses around a line-drawn "heart" shape. With graceful postures and vivid colors, the design also incorporates silhouettes of love birds such as swallows, mandarin ducks, magpies, and swans in the background, further interpreting the cultural connotation of roses.

This set of stamps is printed by Henan Post and Telecommunications Printing Factory using the offset printing process. The 3D embossing technology makes the roses on the stamps more lifelike. The love bird patterns in the background are presented through cold stamping holographic plain finishing—their elegant silhouettes emit a soft luster under light, with colors changing as the light shifts, looking light and vivid as if wandering among colorful auspicious clouds. The "heart"-shaped lines on the stamps sparkle, as if inlaid with tiny diamonds, understated yet fascinating. The printing of the stamps not only highlights the main subject but also creates an atmosphere of romance and beauty.
