China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 2 commemorative stamps titled "2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition" on April 29, 2019. The names of the stamp designs are respectively: "Green Life" and "Beautiful Homeland", with a total face value of 2 yuan for the complete set.

The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition was held in Beijing from April 29 to October 7, 2019. It was the highest-level and largest professional expo held in China in the past decade. The exhibition venue is located at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall in Yanqing District, hence it is known as the "International Horticultural Exhibition at the Foot of the Great Wall". With the theme of "Green Life, Beautiful Homeland", this exhibition serves as an important opportunity to promote the concept of green development, drive the transformation of economic development models and residents' lifestyles, and also a vivid practice in building a beautiful China.

The first stamp takes three main elements as its focus: the Great Wall winding through green mountains, the rose (the city flower of Beijing), and the exhibition's emblem – "the Flower of the Great Wall". It implies that horticulture originates from nature, advocates the concept of respecting and integrating into nature, and also highlights the "Chinese style" and "Beijing brand". The second stamp features key elements including the International Pavilion, the China Pavilion of the exhibition, and its mascots "Xiao Mengya" (Little Sprout) and "Xiao Menghua" (Little Flower). The overall image is vibrant and energetic, inspiring people to establish the concept of green, low-carbon and environmentally friendly production and lifestyle, and work together to build a colorful and beautiful homeland.

This set of stamps is designed by Wu Shining and printed by Beijing Stamp Factory using the photogravure process.
