China Post will issue a set of four commemorative stamps titled The 110th Anniversary of the Birth of Comrade Deng Xiaoping on August 22, 2014. The four stamps feature four themes respectively: Leading the Baise Uprising, Addressing the Sixth Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Speaking at the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the Southern Tour Talks.

The stamp set is painted based on authentic historical photographs, vividly capturing Deng Xiaoping’s bearing and demeanor in different periods. The first stamp depicts Deng Xiaoping during the Baise Uprising, with the Yuedong Guild Hall in Baise (former headquarters of the 7th Red Army of Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army) as the background. The second shows Deng Xiaoping delivering a speech at the Sixth Special Session of the UN General Assembly, set against the UN Headquarters building. The third portrays him speaking at the 12th National Congress of the CPC, with the Great Hall of the People in the backdrop. The fourth captures Deng Xiaoping delivering remarks during his southern inspection tour, with a cityscape of Shenzhen as the background.

Designed by Li Zhihong and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing House, the full set has a total face value of 5.40 yuan.
