In May, 1942, Mao Zedong delivered a speech in the rectification movement in Yan'an. Soon Talks at Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art was published. In this talk, he summarized the fundamental historical experience in the development of literature and art since the revolution on 4 May, 1919.
