The Shanghai Disney Resort officially opened its doors on June 16, 2016. As the first Disney resort in mainland China, it is a world-class, all-round vacation destination. The entire resort comprises several key components: a Magic Kingdom-style theme park — Shanghai Disneyland Park; two imaginative themed hotels adjacent to the park — Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel; an international shopping, dining and entertainment district — Disney Town, where the Walt Disney Grand Theatre stages the world’s first Mandarin version of the hit Broadway musical The Lion King; and a recreational area featuring tranquil gardens and shimmering lakes — Wishing Star Park.

The two stamps in the Shanghai Disneyland set feature classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, as well as the Enchanted Storybook Castle in Shanghai Disneyland Park respectively. The first stamp, Mickey and Minnie, depicts the iconic Disney couple strolling side by side, dressed in costumes themed to the Shanghai Disney Resort. The costume design incorporates distinctive elements such as the Zhongshan suit, cheongsam and peony, showcasing the unique cultural charm of China. The second stamp, Enchanted Storybook Castle, brilliantly presents the most spectacular and interactive Disney castle in the world. In the background, Tinker Bell hovers overhead, and dazzling fireworks light up the sky. The souvenir sheet centers on the Enchanted Storybook Castle of Shanghai Disneyland Park, with classic Disney cartoon characters featured in the scene. Distant Shanghai landmark buildings can be faintly seen, and the starry sky is embellished with colorful fireworks.
