This stamp set was officially issued on July 1, 2007. It consists of three stamps with face values of 1.20 yuan, 1.20 yuan, and 1.50 yuan, for a total face value of 3.90 yuan. On July 1, 1997, Hong Kong returned to the motherland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was officially established, marking the implementation of the visionary "One Country, Two Systems" policy. Over the decade since its return, Hong Kong has enjoyed social stability and sustained economic prosperity, with increasingly close economic and trade ties with the mainland. This stamp set presents three themes—celebration, cooperation, and prosperity—to showcase the remarkable achievements of Hong Kong's stable development over the past ten years, the success of the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, and the close bond between Hong Kong and the motherland.

Stamp Designs and Historical Background

Celebration

The stamp features the five-starred red flag, the Hong Kong SAR flag, and the bauhinia sculpture presented by the central government. The national and regional flags complement each other, creating a festive and solemn commemorative atmosphere, symbolizing Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the successful implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" policy.

Cooperation

The stamp incorporates the CEPA logo and the Huanggang Port landscape. CEPA (Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) represents the economic and trade cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong, while the port symbolizes the connectivity between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, reflecting the deepening economic and trade exchanges and close cooperation between the two sides.

Prosperity

The stamp features landmarks such as the Hong Kong International Finance Centre and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge, showcasing Hong Kong's status as an international financial center and its modern urban landscape. The connectivity of transportation infrastructure highlights the vibrant and prosperous image of the Pearl of the Orient.

Artistic and Design Features

The three horizontal stamps feature a modern and minimalist design. The first stamp uses festive red and gold tones to evoke a celebratory atmosphere; the second uses bright blue tones to represent economic and trade cooperation; and the third uses urban tones to showcase the modern cityscape. The photogravure printing delivers rich and vibrant colors. The three stamps progress logically from commemoration of sovereignty, to regional cooperation, and finally to urban prosperity, presenting a complete narrative of Hong Kong's development over the past decade.

This stamp set is a major political commemorative issue, available in stamp set and large sheet formats. Collectors often pair it with the 1997 Hong Kong return stamp and the 2017 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return stamp to form a complete Hong Kong return thematic collection, making it an important item in the Hong Kong and Macau-themed stamp category.
