This stamp set was officially issued on June 8, 2007, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Chongqing's establishment as a municipality directly under the central government. It consists of two stamps, each with a face value of 1.20 yuan, for a total face value of 2.40 yuan. The stamps were designed by Ren Guoen, with photography by Yang Shaoquan, Chen Yisi serving as the responsible editor, and printed by Henan Post and Telecommunications Printing Factory using offset printing.

In 1997, Chongqing was established as a municipality. Over the following decade, the city underwent remarkable transformation, with the rapid development of skyscrapers, transportation networks, and infrastructure, propelling the mountain city into a phase of high-speed growth. This continuous stamp set presents the achievements of Chongqing's modernization from two perspectives: the urban landscape and the multi-dimensional transportation system, documenting the city's ever-changing development and highlighting the dynamic vitality of this western metropolis.
