On May 4, 2012, China Post issued the commemorative stamp for the "90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China" with catalog number 2012-8. The set consists of one stamp, titled "90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China," with a face value of 1.20 yuan. The stamp was designed by Guo Chunning, with Chen Yisi serving as the responsible editor. It was printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Works using the photogravure process, and incorporates anti-counterfeiting paper, anti-counterfeiting ink, shaped perforations, and fluorescent spray codes.

This stamp was issued to commemorate the 90-year glorious history of the Communist Youth League of China and to showcase the spirit of successive generations of young people advancing with the times.

The predecessor of the Communist Youth League of China was the Socialist Youth League of China, established in Guangzhou in May 1922. In the turbulent years of old China, progressive young people gathered together to join the revolutionary tide against imperialism and feudalism. Throughout the periods of revolution, construction, and reform, the Youth League organization has, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, united and guided the youth, striving unremittingly for national independence, people's liberation, and national prosperity. It has served as a loyal assistant to the Party and a reliable reserve force.

The stamp design features a group of young people as the main subject, with several energetic youths striding forward with heads held high, symbolizing the positive, enterprising spirit of the younger generation. The background incorporates elements such as the waving League flag, five-pointed stars representing ideals, and flowing ribbons, rendered in bright, dynamic colors. The League emblem is positioned at the top of the design, and the years "1922–2012" are printed at the bottom, marking the ninety-year span.

The design is imbued with a contemporary spirit, vividly portraying the aspirational and forward-looking character of the youth in the new era. It is a significant collectible for thematic collections focusing on youth and the history of the Party's youth movement.
