Theme of the Set

Chen Jiageng was a great patriotic overseas Chinese leader, industrialist, and educator. He started businesses through hard work in the South Seas and invested a large amount of his assets in the motherland's education, founding the Jimei Schools and Xiamen University. During the War of Resistance, he actively mobilized overseas Chinese in the South Seas to donate in support of the motherland's resistance. This set commemorates the 110th anniversary of Chen Jiageng's birth, honoring his life of devoting his wealth to education and sincerely serving the country, and carrying forward the Jiageng spirit of cherishing his homeland and being patriotic and dedicated.

Portrait of Chen Jiageng

The image is a half-length portrait of Chen Jiageng, with a refined and firm expression. Throughout his life Chen Jiageng advocated saving the nation through education and regarded founding schools and cultivating talents as a major undertaking for national salvation. Jimei School Village

The image presents the architectural appearance of the Jimei School Village, with the Nanxun Building and Daonan Building as the main subjects. The Jimei School Village is an educational building complex founded single-handedly by Chen Jiageng in his hometown of Jimei, gathering many schools, and is a landmark achievement of modern overseas Chinese school-founding.
