On September 2, 2013, China Post officially issued the commemorative stamp set for the "100th Anniversary of the Birth of Comrade Wei Guoqing" with catalog number 2013-20. The set consists of two stamps.

Each stamp has a face value of 1.20 yuan, with a total face value of 2.40 yuan. The stamps were designed by Yang Jiahuan, edited by Wang Jing, and printed by Henan Post and Telecommunications Printing Factory.

Both stamps feature portraits of Wei Guoqing from different periods, depicting his strong, resolute features. The tightly closed lips convey the calm yet firm temperament of a revolutionary leader:

First stamp, "Wei Guoqing During the Long March": Focuses on Wei Guoqing's youth during the 25,000-li Long March. Dressed in a Red Army uniform, he looks firmly ahead. The background incorporates simplified marching imagery, highlighting his transformation from a soldier in the Baise Uprising to an outstanding military commander amidst gunfire. During the Long March, he served as the commander of the Special Operations Battalion of the Red Army Cadre Regiment and the acting commander of the Special Operations Regiment of the Red Army University, repeatedly achieving military successes under difficult conditions. This stamp serves as a tribute to that arduous and heroic period.

Second stamp, "Wei Guoqing During His Administration in Guangxi": Portrays Wei Guoqing in his middle and later years, reflecting his over two decades of governance in Guangxi. His calm and composed demeanor conveys the gravitas and sense of responsibility of a regional leader. Starting in 1958, Wei Guoqing served successively as Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Government, First Secretary of the Autonomous Region Party Committee, and First Political Commissar of the Guangxi Military District. He conducted in-depth investigations and research, uniting people of all ethnic groups to accelerate industrial and agricultural production, water conservancy, national defense, and cultural and educational development. This stamp embodies his devoted service to Guangxi.

Wei Guoqing's life spanned many significant periods in China's revolution and nation-building, marked by outstanding contributions:

During the Agrarian Revolution: He participated in the Baise Uprising in 1929, entered the Central Soviet Area with his troops, fought in the Third Anti-Encirclement Campaign, and embarked on the Long March in 1934, honing his military skills amidst battle.

During the War of Resistance against Japan: He was involved in opening up the Northeast Anhui Anti-Japanese Base Area and consolidating the region east of the Jinpu Railway. He served as the principal of the Eighth Route Army Mobile School, political commissar of the 9th Brigade of the 3rd Division of the New Fourth Army, and deputy commander of the 4th Division, making important contributions to the anti-Japanese struggle behind enemy lines.

During the War of Liberation: He served as commander and political commissar of the 2nd Column of the East China Field Army, commander of the North Jiangsu Corps, and political commissar of the 10th Corps of the Third Field Army. He participated in the Huaihai Campaign and the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign, making significant contributions to national liberation.

After the founding of New China: He served as the first Party Secretary and Mayor of Fuzhou, Governor of Guangxi Province, and the first First Party Secretary and Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He governed Guangxi for over twenty years, conducting in-depth grassroots investigations and promoting comprehensive development. He also held key positions such as First Political Commissar of the Guangzhou Military Region, First Party Secretary of Guangdong Province, Director of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army, and member of the Military Commission of the Central Committee, overseeing political work and contributing significantly to the modernization of the armed forces.

This stamp set is an important commemorative issue of 2013 honoring a significant figure.
