T110 "Siberian Crane" special stamps were issued on May 22, 1986. The set consists of 3 stamps plus T110M souvenir sheet, printed by photogravure. (3-1) measures 40 × 30 mm, perforation gauge 11 × 11.5, 50 stamps per sheet; (3-2)(3-3) measure 30 × 40 mm, perforation gauge 11.5 × 11, 50 stamps per sheet; the souvenir sheet measures 160 × 54 mm, with an inner stamp of 120 × 30 mm, perforation gauge 11 × 11.5. Designed by Huang Yongyu and printed by the Beijing Stamp Factory.

Theme of the Set

The Siberian crane, also known as the black-sleeved crane, is a national first-class protected animal and a globally endangered rare wading bird. Every winter it overwinters in places such as Poyang Lake in China. This set takes the Siberian crane as its theme, presenting its elegant posture and living habits, promoting the concept of wildlife protection, and calling on the public to protect rare birds and the wetland ecological environment.

The set adopts Huang Yongyu's signature freehand-style Chinese painting technique, with a unified gold-powder background throughout, luxurious and elegant. The three stamps alternate one horizontal and two vertical, combining motion and stillness, with concise and expressive brushwork; the souvenir sheet uses a pure blue sky as the background and a handscroll-style composition, with the flock of cranes arranged in an orderly yet varied way and a free and graceful spirit. It is a classic among animal-themed stamps.
