China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 1 commemorative stamp titled "The 9th Asian Winter Games" on February 7, 2025. With a face value of 1.20 yuan, the set has a planned circulation of 6.49 million. The 9th Asian Winter Games will be held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, from February 7 to 14, 2025. Following the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, this marks another major comprehensive international winter sports event hosted by China, and the third time the country has staged the Asian Winter Games after Harbin in 1996 and Changchun in 2007. The Games' emblem "Transcendence", mascots "Binbin" and "Nini" (modeled after Siberian tigers), and slogan "Dream of Winter, Love among Asia" embody the vision of athletes from all Asian countries and regions showcasing the charm of winter sports, constantly surpassing themselves, and fulfilling their life dreams on this grand stage. They also reflect the sincere enthusiasm with which people across Asia enhance unity and friendship, expressing the noble aspiration for peaceful development and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
The stamp features a hexagonal format, with the Games' mascots "Binbin" and "Nini" as the main visual elements, complemented by the emblem and key graphic elements. Boasting a prominent theme, minimalist and modern composition, and pure and bright colors, the stamp fully captures the distinctive characteristics of the 9th Asian Winter Games. Printed using high-screen gravure technology, it adopts a blue base color combined with special pearlescent materials to enhance the visual effect of the background and enrich the visual layers. Additionally, snowflake-shaped special perforations and snowflake color standards integrate craftsmanship with the theme, highlighting the icy and snowy aesthetics of the Games' venue. The use of fluorescent ink creates a passionate and vibrant atmosphere under ultraviolet light, reflecting the spirit of sports.
This set of stamps is designed by Chen Jingyi, edited by Liu Jian, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Co., Ltd. using gravure technology.
