China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 4 special stamps themed "Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta Region" on December 1, 2023. The stamps bear the design titles respectively: Integrated Development of Sci-Tech and Industries, Joint Protection and Governance of the Ecological Environment, Convenient Sharing of Public Services, and High-Level Coordinated Opening-Up. The total face value of the entire stamp set is 4.80 yuan, with a planned circulation of 7,198,000 sets.

The Yangtze River Delta (hereafter referred to as the "YRD") region is one of the most economically dynamic, open, and innovation-driven areas in China. It holds a strategically pivotal position in the national overall modernization drive and the comprehensive opening-up pattern. Promoting the integrated development of the YRD enhances the region's innovation capacity and competitiveness, improves economic agglomeration, regional connectivity, and policy coordination efficiency—all of which are of great significance for leading high-quality development nationwide and building a modern economic system.

The implementation of the YRD integrated development strategy is a major strategic measure to guide the country's high-quality development, optimize China's spatial layout for reform and opening-up, and foster a strong and dynamic growth pole for national development. Advancing the integrated development of the YRD is conducive to: upgrading the YRD's status and influence in the global economic landscape, and leading China's participation in global cooperation and competition; further implementing the regional coordinated development strategy, exploring institutional systems and path models for regional integrated development, guiding the development of the Yangtze Economic Belt, and setting an example for national regional integrated development; giving full play to the comparative advantages of various regions within the YRD, enhancing the overall comprehensive strength of the region, and taking the lead in the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.

This stamp set is designed in the form of illustrations, with vivid and flexible images.

The 1st stamp incorporates elements such as an automated production line with intelligent robotic arms, the Hefei Concentration Area for Major Science and Technology Infrastructures, representative buildings of the G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor, as well as graphic symbols of artificial intelligence, information networks, and cloud computing. These elements collectively reflect the integrated development of sci-tech and industries.

The 2nd stamp features design elements including Yuandang Lake (a representative landscape of the YRD Ecological and Green Integrated Demonstration Zone), Qiandao Lake, and equipment for the treatment and utilization of organic waste around Taihu Lake, embodying the joint protection and governance of the ecological environment.

The 3rd stamp adopts elements like the "One-Network Universal Handling" scenario for YRD government services, the Hefei National Regional Medical Center for Children, representative buildings of the Haining Campus of Zhejiang University, and the Hangzhou-Huangshan World-Class Tourism and Cultural Corridor. These elements demonstrate the convenient sharing of public services.

The 4th stamp includes elements such as the Hongqiao National Convention and Exhibition Center, the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone, ports, and big data spectrum graphics, reflecting high-level coordinated opening-up.
