China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 2 commemorative stamps themed The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China on May 5, 2022. The two stamp designs are titled Always Follow the Party and Rest Assured, Party - We Will Strengthen the Nation. The total face value of the full set is 2 yuan, with a planned circulation of 7.3 million sets.

The Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) is a mass organization of advanced young people led by the Communist Party of China. It serves as a school where young people learn about socialism with Chinese characteristics and communism through practice, and acts as the assistant and reserve force of the Communist Party of China. The May Fourth Movement, which broke out in 1919 when the nation was on the verge of peril, laid the ideological and organizational groundwork for the establishment of the Communist Party of China and the CYLC. It ushered in a new era for the Chinese youth movement and marked the first time that the Chinese youth group stepped onto the social and historical stage. Under the direct care and leadership of the Communist Party of China, the First National Congress of the Socialist Youth League of China was held at Dongyuan in Guangzhou from May 5 to May 10, 1922. The convening of this congress achieved complete ideological and organizational unity for the Socialist Youth League of China, turning it into a national advanced youth organization consistent with the Communist Party of China in terms of political program and goals. Thus, the Chinese youth organization came into official existence, which stands as a milestone in the development history of the Chinese youth movement. Over the past 100 years, the Chinese youth movement has thrived continuously. Young League members and youth at large have consistently played the role of a new force and a shock troop during the New Democratic Revolution, the period of socialist revolution and construction, the era of reform and opening - up and socialist modernization, as well as the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

This set of stamps was designed by Chang Shana and Zhang Lei. Chang Shana, a renowned art and design educator, artist and former president of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, was the chief designer of the CYLC emblem. Zhang Lei, an associate professor at the Art and Science Research Center of Tsinghua University, has designed many sets of commemorative and special stamps, such as Teachers' Day and The Turn of the Century and the Dawn of a New Millennium - Stepping into the 21st Century.

The first stamp, Always Follow the Party, takes the Party emblem and the League flag as the main elements, with the League flag closely following the Party emblem. It is supplemented by the number "100" and silhouettes of young people striving in various industries, highlighting the CYLC's political orientation of closely following the Party. The second stamp, Rest Assured, Party - We Will Strengthen the Nation, centers on the CYLC emblem, and is complemented by the number "100", high - speed trains, rockets, buildings and other images. It embodies the lofty aspirations of the majority of Young League members to contribute their youthful strength to building a prosperous motherland and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
