Despite suffering from serious illness, he remained rooted on the front lines, working with utter dedication and fulfilling his original aspiration of serving the people throughout his life. This stamp records the spirit of Jiao Yulu—hard work and selfless dedication—and calls on cadres to learn from him.

Stamp Design and Historical Background

Good Cadre of the Party – Jiao Yulu

The design is based on a classic photograph of Jiao Yulu in the fields of Lankao. He wears an outer garment over a sweater, with a pen clipped to his collar. His hands are on his hips, and he looks toward the land of Lankao with a smile. The years of his birth and death, "1922–1964," are noted on the left side. The simple image restores his work state of constantly going deep into the fields and sharing hardships with the common people.

Artistic and Design Features

The stamp uses a black-and-white realistic portrait format. The tones are simple and restrained, without extraneous embellishment. It focuses on restoring Jiao Yulu's approachable and simple appearance. The image is serene and authentic, conveying profound spiritual strength through a documentary portrait. It is a highly moving work in the category of heroic model figure stamps.
